The Savaneta Prefix was registered in 1998 in partnership with Paula Goodall & Sheila Rammell when we decided to import frozen semen from America from two dogs, Am Ch Justmoor Southern Renegade OS and Am Ch Monterey Bay Eat Your Heart Out CD. We are extremely grateful to Paul & Karen Lindstrom (Sandpoint Goldens, California) for the trust & friendship they have shown us. Sadly Karen passed away in April 2002, a devastating loss to her family and the Golden Retriever world.
We have also been very fortunate to be able to purchase frozen semen from Am/Can Ch Beckwith's Early Eclipse SDHF. The frozen semen from Clipper was originally imported by David & Margaret McKittrick (Coombehill Goldens) in 1995, the first USA lines to be introduced to Australia.
Hopefully in 2008 we will see the arrival of more frozen semen from the USA.
Sheila and her husband Chris have been involved with Goldens since the early 1970's and have bred and owned many successful Goldens under the "Mercian" prefix. Their foundation bitch was Yimboon Mercia who was behind all the successful Mercian Goldens, the most successful being Aust Ch Mercian Lady Tamara and Aust Ch Mercian Lady Cassandra (owned by Dawn Noble). Cassie was one of South Australia's Top Showing Goldens in the mid-late 1990's.
Paula started in Goldens in 1987 with the arrival of 2yr old Nellroy Snow Lighter who went on to gain his CDX title. In January 1990 Deanchel Forever Amber arrived at the age of 8wks. Amber had an incredible career in obedience winning many trials at All Breed & Specialty level. From three litters she produced 3 Champions, Aust Ch Chipala Winter Charm, Aust Ch Chipala Have A Little Faith & Aust Ch Chipala Glen Hamish, with many others pointed. All of the Savaneta Goldens go back to her.
The first Savaneta litter was born on 16th December 1999, consisting of 2 boys & 1 girl, of which two became Champions. Our second litter was born on 21st December 1999 with 1 boy & 3 girls. Three of these puppies are now Champions. From the 9 Savaneta litters to date (the oldest now 9 1/2 yrs and youngest 3mths) we have bred 11 Champions and 2 Grand Champions with others well on the way! Our dogs are well known for their happy, outgoing temperament.
We strive to breed sound Goldens with that wonderful Golden temperament that can compete in obedience, field, agility, conformation or just be happy family pets. All of our breeding stock have their hips & elbows x-rayed and are eye & heart certified.
Our puppies are sold on the Limited Register. If you would like to see copies of our Limited Register & Purchase Agreement documents please email us and we would be happy to send you a copy. We also like to give at least 2wks supply of their current diet to give the puppy a good start in their new home and the puppy also comes with a very extensive Puppy Information Folder.
